This piece is based on a secretary found in Gustav Stickley's Craftsman Farms in Parsippany, New Jersey. The bottom drawer is a lateral file drawer. The drop leaf is laminated, so that a true floating panel on the face is backed by shop sawn veneers on the back to provide a flat writing surface.
Made of quarter sawn white oak, darkened with ammonia fuming. Finished in shellac.
